Salvia Fundraising started in 2002. There are a wide range of not-for-profits seeking funds and advice so the consultancy offers services to charities, housing associations, social enterprises and community interest companies.

Andrew Devon is the head consultant. He started fundraising as a volunteer for a local group of Amnesty in 1993 and then took up fundraising professionally at Yarrow Housing. He went on to work at Alone in London, Church Housing Trust, Turning Point, Capital Housing, St Martin of Tours Housing Association and City Roads.  He started Salvia Fundraising in 2002.

Andrew was the chair of the Institute of Fundraising’s South-East Region from 2008 until 2011. He was previously a board member of Milton House and on Amnesty UK's Membership Sub-Committee. 

Andrew's main experience is in raising funds from charitable trusts and foundations, and statutory sources.  He has raised funds for revenue and capital projects, and major building appeals.

 

Cath Cole - Associate Fundraiser
Cath has nine years’ experience in the charity sector and a further three years’ in the commercial sector. She has a successful track record in a wide range of fundraising areas including corporate, trust, foundation & lottery funding, community & events and DM including raffle recruitment. Cath has managed teams of more than 50 staff, handled Charity of the Year partnerships of up to £1.5m and has a strong strategic skills base.

Shirley Illsley - Associate Fundraiser
Shirley also has a background of practical experience gained from working with a variety of charities local, regional and national. Successfully she has generated funds for both capital projects and revenue income using her skills working with community fundraising, trusts, retail and direct mail. Her key areas of expertise include donor development and database management.

Sandie Foster - Associate Fundraiser Sandie has over twelve years experience in fundraising for national and local charities such as The Salvation Army and Brighton-based Lorica Trust and FareShare. Her experience and achievements cover a range of fundraising disciplines including community, trusts and corporate fundraising, event management, social enterprise, marketing and public relations. She has specialised in capital appeals for the redevelopment of church buildings and the development of city farms. Her strengths are in developing and implementing fundraising strategies and the development of new projects and appeals which have ranged from a few hundred to £2.5 million. She has trained as an advisor to community groups and has a particular interest in Social Return on Investment audits having undertaken the practitioner's course in 2009. Sandie is a full member of the Institute of Fundraising and holds the Certificate in Fundraising Management (CiFM).
